- What is your company’s mission?

At dbi services, we are committed to data infrastructures and platforms. That is why we have made it our mission to design, realize, and operate cutting-edge IT infrastructures that enable our customers to focus on their core business et do what they do best.
In doing so, we never forget that we are part of a community which we contribute to by sharing our knowledge through conferences, blog posts, trainings courses, etc.
- What makes your company a great place to work?

dbi services has a purpose: “We bring skills and above all humans to turn your challenges into successes”. This means that in everything we do, we put people at the very center of our actions. Our strong customer orientation is proof of this. However, this commitment to understand and meet the needs of our customers is only possible because we strive to be employee oriented first.
Beyond the perks and fringe benefits, we are a great place to work mainly because we listen to our staff (even to the most unpleasant feedback), we take it into account, we take corrective measures, and we listen again… and again. For example, each year we put our status as an employer of choice to test by the Great Place to Work Institute. Our objective is obviously to position ourselves as an attractive employer, but above all to know what we can improve for our employees.
- How do you foster diversity in your company?

We have an internal motto: “At dbi services, every employee is different, every employee is equally important “. We do not want any of our employees to be someone else in order to fit in. We acknowledge the differences in our staff and have done so since the very beginning. This has helped us create an inclusive culture with staff members from various backgrounds, age, culture, gender, etc.
At dbi services, we listen to our employees. Every voice is welcome and every voice is heard and respected, wherever it comes from. That’s why we have implemented many communication channels so that everyone can express themselves without fear.
At dbi services, we avoid gender pay inequality at all costs. To do this, we are audited and certified by an external organization.
- Which PostgreSQL extension do you benefit from most, and why?

Definitely pg_stat_statements because we need it all the time to troubleshoot performance issue at our customers. Without this extension, it would be much more difficult to identify bottlenecks in the database.
- Why does your company attend PostgreSQL Conference Europe?
-
We attend PostgreSQL Conference Europe for several reasons. To us, the most important one is to support the community in organizing such a great event. Another reason is to meet people, engage in discussions and network. Listening to interesting talks and learning something new is a reason as well.
