Things to do in Berlin
- Visit the glass dome of the Reichstag building (register in advance)
- Explore numerous art and history museums at the Museum island or Kulturforum
- Learn about Z1, the freely programmable mechanical computer from Berlin, in the German Museum of Technology
- Come to Berlin Zoo (don’t miss the Aquarium) and Tierpark (the main Zoo of the former East Berlin)
- On a sunny day, walk or cycle through Berlin Tiergarten. Or climb the observation deck at either the Panoramapunkt Berlin or Berlin TV tower
- Hop on a tourist bus, or just take a regular bus 100, 200, and 300 going through the city center
- Visit Berlin Wall memorial close to Nordbahnhof and learn about the city’s turbulent past time. Or rent a bicycle and ride along the former Berlin Wall path (Mauerweg)
- For a smaller city vibe, take an S-bahn or Regional train to Potsdam, a neighboring city and a capital of state Brandenburg, which used to be the residence of Prussian kings
